Representatives from industry, business, education, and government met recently to consider ways to more effectively connect education to the local economy. Navasota ISD, the City of Navasota and the Navasota/Grimes County Chamber of Commerce hosted a luncheon, March 27, to listen to a presentation by WIN Learning regarding career readiness solutions to help communities and schools prepare pathways for students whether they are college, trade school, military or workplace bound.
WIN learning developed a career-driven intervention model - a series of aligned eLearning tools that look at the realities of the workplace within the context of learning. Educators can gather real-time labor market information that characterizes the realities of the workforce and identifies educational needs. The model also helps students identify potential career pathways so they can prepare for jobs that are in demand now as well as those that are likely to be in demand in the future.
